Who can resist a beautiful vintage kimono? This traditional Japanese garment flourished in the Edo period (1615-1868) as an indicator of wealth and status amongst both the ruling samurais and the middle-class of the era; once Japan opened to western trade in the Meiji period (1868-1912) the kimono flourished as a prized import at stores like Liberty's in London.
